I'm feeling lucky.
It's a sunny day here in Auckland and it's 4.14pm. I just finished my set of classes and today would be officially my first week of Uni.
It's been good, I like my tutors and the lectures are not stiff boring (ask me again in another 3months) and I feel better than I have ever felt since I first came here two years ago.
I know it's too soon to start thinking about this but I'm already thinking what am I going to do after I finish Uni? Where am I going to work? What do I want to do? What do I want to be?
Ahh...
The fundamental question is 'What do I want to be?'
I was ask in PR class today why I chose that class as one of my papers. I told the tutor that I didn't choose it I just flip a coin. It was PR against TV but I must say PR seems to be looking up for me. Not that I would want it to be my career it is just that faith plays funny games with me and I am inclined to go with the flow just too see what's in store. Heck! As if I have a choice right?
Everything I do I leave it to faith. I am too indecisive I just go with the flow not because I'm easy going but just the opposite. I am scared witless that I might make a mistake with my life and that it was MY OWN FAULT that I screwed and noone else. Self defeat is a bitter pill to swallow indeed.
I only realise this when I was in that PR class. Having to answer the question of WHY's have made me open up my eyes and have a glimpse into a small part of my pyshe. It was like a ray of sunlight shining upon me with birds chirping around circling my head.
OK, Bullshits aside.
This revelation of myself made me happy and that I should just really go with the flow and just take everything as it is. I may not know what I want to be but I hell as know for sure that today I made the decisions my way and the hell with consequences.
But then again (ask me again in another 3 months)
By the way did I tell you that International office here in AUT are fartsy assholes.
fuh~
Just needed to point that out.
Oh, I bought a singlet that says on the front
100% Bitch
and on the back it says
You got a problem with that?
How fitting is that?
Till Then
LET'S GO! LET'S GO! SEE THE SHOW!
Let's do something fartsy on Saturday night and get artsy. Enrich your soul with me people.
Book it and I'll see you at the 10.30pm slot or better yet tell me and we'll get a table!
I know You know that you want to go.
Till Then
(written on a sunny Friday evening)
I'm in the park and there are so many lovers out here cuddling,
snuggling and kissing. They are looking into each others eyes and
whispering and pointing at the other couples in the park.
How nice.
Girlfriends are hanging out, chilling with a cup of hot something in
their hands while they chat away the time and some are listening to the
live bands playing here in the park in conjuction with
AK05.
And,
Here I am sitting alone on the bench waiting for Eugenie to take out some money so she can buy her juggling balls.
Earlier on in the day...
We were walking around the fair in
the park which is in the middle of the city when Eugenie's attention
was caught by this funny looking tent. It wasn't made out of those
expensive looking canvas like all the other tents that surrounded
it, it was just two big pieces of cloth strung together and in it was a
peculiar looking man. He look like a bum with dirty sandy blonde hair
and a scraggly beard. He had a red singlet on which look like it hasn't
been washed for days and baggy surfer shorts. However, when he
spoke he had a catchy voice (musical in a funny sort of way) and it was
a pleasure to listen to him.
Apparently, underneath all that shabbiness was actually a tutor of the
Fine Arts who is from Christchurch. He had just come down to Auckland
to visit his daughter and thought that he would set up a make shift
tent for the day (hence the odd looking tent that he calls a stall).
His speciality was juggling and he
offered to give Eugenie free lessons if she was willing. Luckily, she
was and we spent half an hour of fun (and very addictive) attempts at
juggling. The balls that were used were made out of plastic beads and
put into hand made (he made it himself) calf skin pouches. They smelled
musky and were soft and smooth to the touch.
While Eugenie was attempting to
juggle and me furiously trying to remember all the instructions, Woody
told us (yes, that is his name) that juggling is a wonderful activity
as it forces the left hand to move and be used as it is rarely moved to
do anything. By moving and co-ordinating our left hand with our right
we are using both sides of our brains. According to him most creative
people use both sides of their brain and those who only use their right
hand tend to use only one side of the brain.
Interesting.
He showed us how to exercise our left
hand with two balls (by juggling them in the air using one hand in
different directions) and also some basic juggling tricks to woo the
crowds at a party ;p
I tell ya juggling is addicitive!
After half an hour of getting hit by
the balls and finally suceeding in juggling not two but THREE balls
simultaneously Eugenie decided to purchase three balls for 38NZD.
Unfortunately, he doesn't take eftpos so she had to withdraw some money.
Thus, the reason why I am here sitting on the bench alone.
As I am writing this it occured
to me that Woody has just used an ingenious way of selling his
juggling balls, which was to introduce, gull and suck
in two 'innocent' girls into loving the sport and he didn't even have
to offer to sell the balls cause we immediatelly wanted to buy them
after beign introduced to juggling!
How smart of him.
But what we gain from learning to
juggle and actually enjoying it surpasses the money that we
parted with by a very very large margin no less.
I can now juggle three balls in the air (albeit clumsily) give me time and I will show it to you that I indeed can do it.
Till Then
Last night, I was getting cultured with Eugenie, Dev, Berlinda and B catching the breathtaking show called Cabaret Decadance or as they say in french Decadanse.
I am absolutely enamoured with last night show of puppets with song and dance. The way the puppeteers move as pure poetry. Each puppet needed two puppeteers too coincide with each other and they choreoraphed the moves with precison and grace.
At first, when the show started I was a bit afraid of the puppets, as the first one on show was the dramatic tranvestite Conrad. It took a little bit getting use to but I was soon enthralled with his melodramaticness (if there is usch a word) and very much in love with Mauve who was this flirty little number with oh-so sexy moves.
Many beautiful songs were use to make the Cabaret what it is, many of the songs were in French but when the puppets were acting out the songs it seemed that English was not the only language I understood at that moment. The puppets seemed alive and so real and it is because the puppeteers themselves were so intertwined with their subject, with every song there was a very dramatic change in mood. When a sad love song came up the puppetteers face would be a mask of such bitter sweet sorrow but when a happy go lucky song came out the joy and fun portrayed in their faces was only equal to the beautiful steps they made their puppets do.
If you are starting to get fascinated do visit their site:
Cabaret Decadanse
This is the website of the group, although there is an english version the site is mostly done in French.
After the show I wanted to go dancing but noone was out that night so we headed off to Aotea square to catch the AK05 concerts (that are held daily ) a new band was playing that night called Stylus they were not bad (Good Charlotte mix Green Day sort of sounds).

Caipirinha, the popular Brazilian drink. It's good, very good and very sweet (which is just my thing!)
Natalia was raving about it but when I tasted it... it was pretty strong and not even close to being orgasmic.
She apologised and said "tonight it 's very good but I swear it is a fantastic drink!"
The crowd last night was a very good looking crowd, everyone buff and tan with long long hair and rippling muscles.
I
felt like I was in another country, everyone was speaking fast in a
rythmic and melodic sort of way. Some were speaking Spanish, many were
shouting Brazilian over each others head and a smattering of English could be heard.
The men...
Oh, the men... were hot!
The
bar cum restaurant is called Mexican cafe and has this very nice
setting with the decors and lights. The atmosphere and ambience was
cool and I was half expecting cowboys to barge in with their guns
ablazing, wanting a drink and some fun with the bar girls. The decor
was that good.
Well for me at least.
The walls were filled with pictures of old mexico and also large mosaic designs of angels and beasts.
The
band was worth the trip down to the city, they were very good if you
like slow festival like songs with Jamaican flavour to it and also a
tinge of Jack Johnson but it was Brazilian style from the strumming of
the guitars and all the way to the drums and smooth notes of the singer.
I
even got to see Peter strut his moves dancing the Brazilian jiggy with
Natalia and Ivy (they waltz and it such a cute waltz as they do a
little sidestep to their dance, it's pretty interesting and very
sensual for some reason)
I
would love to bring you guys here but those who can't due to airport
fares and such can have a taste of your own 'Mexican Cafe' in your own
backyard:
