Hey All,

So far the support from friends and family have been amazing. The kind words and all are pretty nice to have. I was expecting the shit to hit the fan but nothing yet so far which is pretty cool. 

It's a Monday afternoon here in Auckland and I am not at work and am actually at my desk listening to a really nice song from a guy called Ronald Jenkees. I think he is the bomb, musically and from his videos he looks like a really really nice guy.

I'm really sick hence why I'm at home, the late nights and constant worry about my pronunciation has brought me low but I am just glad that it is all over. The results will be out on the 30th of September. Let me know how it goes as I will be a on plane that time and won't have access to internet anytime soon. 

So next on my list is to prepare the script for the History Channel competition!

So oh oh oh,

What have I been up to? Besides sweating like a pig in the gym and swimming like a dolphin in the local pool.

I was chatting with my mum on msn and her eyes glinted (like all mothers who love you do) as she was telling me about one of her favourite shows.

Apparently, ‘Fun Taiwan’ is looking for a co-host to teman their sparkling and funny host Janet Hsieh. She was getting all excited and I went along for the ride. Ooooing and ahhing in the appropriate places. We got quite gung ho as we both read the competition rules on the website. Mum was halfway reading and I was all ready to go camera in hand, nostrils flaring creative juices bubbling forth until I heard….“must be fluent in Chinese and English”.

My world came crashing down, I dropped the camera and the fountain of juices dried up…like a shriveled prune.

“Audrey? Audrey! Are you listening girl, this is a good opportunity!”

“Ma, I can’t speak Chinese!”

“It doesn’t matter, they are looking for talent and see it says here they prefer fluency in English”

“oh really?”

“Yes, yes, sheesh”- my mother ever the optimist

Blood starts warming up my face and I picked up the forgotten camera and am all raring to go again.I mean when is the best time to practice my broken mandarin, what is the point of all those classes (although i just have only just started) if I don't start speaking it? What better way to speak a foreign language but online for all the world to see and snicker. Joy, I talked myself into this by telling myself that if I make people laugh at me for even a moment then I have served my purpose in life...(what a load of..)

So yes ladies and gents I will be making a tool of myself on youtube so do have a look when it’s up.

So, the people who have been reading this blog (which is about 5 of you, hello!!!) would know that I have been going through some soul searching.

I have come up with an answer and I honestly hope that it is the right one! I will take a year off to try it out in Malaysia . A year to scope out and act on opportunities that come my way and see where it brings me. If I succeed then I will stay on to pursue it all. If it fails then I will go back to New Zealand knowing that I did my best!

For the past few years I felt that I had forgotten something back home. I felt that there was this feeling in me that was always nagging and I pushed it away so many times that it permanently stayed at the back of my mind. Something important, like a door left open on a cold winter’s night, a breeze keeps coming through and it won’t stop until that door is closed.

I have heaps of plans and ideas and I hope that you will follow me on this journey as I pursue my purpose in life. A rediscovery of myself I should say.

I hope you, my dear readers will hold my hand as I venture forth into the unknown, weep with me when I am disappointed and dejected. Roar with me when I am rejected and celebrate with me when I overcome my obstacles no matter how small it may be.  (chewah, banyak drama si kawan)

I will also need you to pull me back to earth when I get too big for my laurels.I can’t really say much about what I will be doing as I need to finalize it all (more like to protect myself from counting my eggs before the chicks have hatched). Bear with me!

I am excited and I hope that sometime this year I would be in my element working hard in achieving my goals.

Ahh I feel so much better and very embarrassed about my post below... I have promised myself to never delete any post. So I will keep it there to remind myself not to be so melodramatic.
